ASOS Marketplace removes commission rates until start of 2021

ASOS has announced that its Marketplace platform will remove commission rates immediately until the end of 2020.

Since the ASOS Marketplace platform launched in 2010 it has supported thousands of international small brands, giving them an online space to sell vintage and independent fashion and access to ASOS' global customer base.

The ASOS Marketplace platform is home to over 800 brands from around the world and over 130,000 products.

The marketplace saw a surge in demand from new boutiques looking to join the platform in the spring when traditional physical stores and markets were closed due to the national lockdown.

ASOS reported that more than 80 new brands joined in April 2020 alone, an increase of close to 100% year-on-year.

Jo Hunt, Head of ASOS Marketplace, said: “We recognise that the impact of COVID-19 will continue for some time and we are committed to continuing to support our boutique partners as they adapt and evolve their operations into peak trading.

“At ASOS Marketplace our focus has always been on championing and supporting new talent across the fashion industry, and we are pleased to offer a platform to assist sellers that usually rely on traditional retail and help them grow online.”
