Asics reports ‘strong, profitable growth’ across all regions in Q1

Japanese footwear giant Asics EMEA has reported a ‘record-high’ revenue increase of 30.2% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2023, ending 31 March.

Net sales stood at £891 million (¥152.2 billion), the highest-ever first quarter for the company, up by 44.6% compared to the year prior and by 35% currency-neutral.

Operating income also broke records, reaching £129 million (¥22.1 billion), up by 15%.

In addition, Asics reported profitable growth across all its categories in Q1 2023, including Performance Running, Tennis, Indoor and SportStyle.

Wholesale channels reported year-on-year growth of 34.4%, with significant increases in Benelux (45.2%), France (69.5%), Germany (39.2%), Iberia (55.5%), Italy (57%), Sweden (55.1%) and the UK (15.6%).

Asics EMEA also reported e-commerce growth, with an increase of 31.9% year-on-year.
