With only seven Mondays left in the calendar until Christmas, anticipation for joy-inducing Christmas adverts is building. ASDA will be the first retailer to showcase its Christmas 2020 festive campaign on TV, titled ASDA Price Christmas.
The advert also see the return of ASDA character Sunny and his family, who previously featured in the ASDA price re-launch and Halloween campaigns, stepping into the magic of Christmas preparations.
Led by Sunny, the advert follows the family getting ready for Christmas, bringing to life key festive themes as well as the range of ASDA products available including party food, decorations and George clothing.
Christmas items from George this year include popular franchises such as Disney’s Mickey Mouse, Star Wars: The Mandalorian, Elf on a Shelf and The Grinch.
ASDA’s Chief Customer Officer Anna-Maree Shaw, said: “At ASDA, we know how important Christmas is for our customers, this year more than ever before. The ad will launch with a special two-minute film today at 8.45pm on ITV1, during a break in Coronation Street.
Last month, the billionaire brothers behind petrol forecourt firm EG Group and private equity firm TDR Capital won a £6.8 billion takeover battle for the supermarket giant.
