Asda trials doorstep parcel returns from George and hundreds of retailers

Asda has announced it will trial doorstep parcel returns from more than 100 of the UK’s most popular retailers and George.com, with collections occurring at the same time as customers receive their regular grocery delivery.

From this month, customers in selected locations can hand back any unwanted items they may have to an Asda home shopping driver when accepting a grocery order - without the need to visit a store or returns location.

The trial aims to give shoppers greater flexibility when returning George and fashion items bought online and utilises Asda’s "toyou" parcel network, enabling customers to track their package from the doorstep all the way back to the original retailer.

To take advantage of the service customers need to follow the process with the relevant retailer and have an online grocery order scheduled with Asda. On the day of their delivery, they inform the driver when accepting their food shop, who will check that the items fit into a tote and give them a receipt.

From this month, online groceries customers in the following 48 stores will be able to participate in the trial:

Huddersfield, Scunthorpe, Peterlee, Wembley, Dunfermline, Brynmawr, Shrewsbury, Bodmin, Cardiff Coryton, Leamington Spa, Sheffield Mosborough, Skelmersdale, Oadby, Stanley, Stockton, St Austell, Bury St Edmunds, Straiton, Kirkcaldy, Huntly, Ashton, Leigh, Gateshead, Aberdare, Toryglen, Dundee Milton, Halifax, Poole, Galashiels, Blackpool, Bristol Whitchurch, Burnley, Abbey Park, Glenrothes, Bishop Auckland, Hereford, Rochdale, Charlton, Accrington, Portlethen, Boldon, Sittingbourne, Brierley Hill, Pembroke Dock, Byker, Bridge of Dee, Worksop, Irvine
