Arsenal and Italy defender Riccardo Calafiori has been revealed as Adidas’ first-ever underwear ambassador – fronting the campaign for the sportswear giant’s new Active Flex collection.

Consisting of three garments for men, the collection is "built to support athletes as they move", including briefs and trunks with Adidas’ famous three-stripes down the side.

Each piece is created in a soft, stretchy cotton that offers moisture-wicking properties, a chafe-free construction, a four-way stretch and a contoured pouch for all-day support.

Selected by Adidas for his self-expression on and off the pitch, Calafiori, who plays either as a centre-back or left-back for Premier League club Arsenal and the Italy national team, said: "I’m really excited to become the first ever ambassador for Adidas Underwear. Football is not just what I do - it’s my passion, it’s my life.

"But, off the pitch I am really into style and being able to express myself in a way that feels natural and comfortable, so I love that people can now see another side of me - the man behind the football player.

"Adidas Underwear always sets me up for the day – I can feel a difference in my confidence through the comfort it gives me. Just like on the pitch, every detail counts."

The Active Flex collection is now available at adidasunderwear.com, in Adidas stores and via the brand’s app.
