Aries serves up finger lickin’ collab with KFC
Cult luxury streetwear brand Aries has joined forces with KFC on a 10-piece limited-edition capsule collection under the title of ‘Gravy Drip’.
Described as a "love letter to comfort food and couture", the collection "blends high fashion with finger lickin’ flavour" – paying homage to KFC’s popular gravy.
The stand-out piece is a distressed leather jacket in deep gravy brown for £1,400, finished with a Renaissance-inspired back panel featuring angelic figures offering drumsticks, "hand dripped" gold details and a gold foil co-branded logo.
There’s also digitally printed denim jeans adorned with Roman banquet-inspired scenes and a chicken drumstick chain, priced at £225, and a black tracksuit with elevated gold detailing and dual branding, featuring a sweatshirt (£170) and sweatpants (£190).
An unexpected coming together with a hint of irreverent humour, it’s fashion that doesn’t take itself too seriously - serving up sharp design, unique visuals and "a wink of absurdity".
Sofia Prantera, founder of Aries, said: "We wanted to create something beautifully executed with a subtle touch of irony. The idea of reverence, ritual and indulgence evoked the spirit of a Roman feast and a celebration of excess."
Rounding out the collection are two printed tees, a cap, a golden chicken drumstick pendant, a sticker pack and even a ceramic gravy boat with embossed logos.
Phoebe Syms, Brand Manager at KFC UK & Ireland, said: "When we thought about bringing the nation’s gravy obsession into the world of fashion, we knew there was only one brand iconic and fearless enough to do it with us – Aries. This is more than just a collab, it’s the ultimate gravy drip, a love letter to our liquid gold."
The collaboration collection also marks the "next evolution of a cultural moment for KFC" that started earlier this year at Sinead Gorey’s fashion week catwalk show. Models clutched pieces of chicken mid-strut, sending social media into a stir.
The ‘Gravy Drip’ collection will be available on the Aries website from 9am on 4 June, with prices ranging from £12 - £1,400.
