Apple chief design officer Sir Jonathan Ive has been revealed as a major backer of the new "tech-sessory" start-up Chaos, founded by fashion editors and stylists Charlotte Stockdale and Emma Lyall.

Chaos was launched at the end of last year and produces a range of luxury iPhone cases, featuring statement slogans and motifs, and accessories with prices starting from £45 for charms and from £145 for an iPhone case.

The Sunday Times has revealed that design guru Ive is one of the business' biggest backers and is connected to Stockdale through her husband, the designer Marc Newson who worked with Ive on the development of the Apple Watch.

Chaos is available from its own website, as well as from Matchesfashion.com and Selfridges, where it staged a pop-up shop just before Christmas, along with another one at London's Dover Street Market.

Stockdale and Lyall are leading names in the world of styling and have worked for major fashion publications including British Voguei-D and Garage; they have also consulted for brands such as Fendi, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Dior.

The launch video for Chaos, which was directed by Yvan Fabing, featured a number of up and coming and established models wearing silk customisable tracksuits, which are expected to be launched by the brand this year.
