Anine Bing launches Resort capsule collection featuring sustainable swimwear
Fashion designer Anine Bing has launched a new 15-piece capsule collection of seasonal categories including sustainable swimwear and ready-to-wear, modelled by the brand's new face Irina Shayk.
Anine Bing signed actress and supermodel Irina Shayk as the face of its 2022 campaigns in March. The appointment coincides with the brand's 10th anniversary. She now stars in the brand's new Resort campaign, which was shot in Miami, Florida by Chris Colls.
The brand says its new Resort capsule presents a continuation of Spring 2022's nostalgic sensibility with classic and feminine touches, and infuses its signature minimalism with elevated accents. It includes sustainable swimwear, beach dresses and accessories in colour palettes of champagne, khaki, black and beige, with accents of the now famous monogram AB print.
Sustainability is also front of mind for the collection, with one-pieces and bikinis made of recycled polyester and spandex, while the Anne dress, Theodora Top, Tio Shirt and Keelan Short are made of a Tencel, Rayon and Nylon mix. As the brand highlights, the mix of fibres keeps the pieces breathable, while the Tencel fibres specifically also help the self-regulation of body temperatures through in-built moisture management.
Key swim pieces from Resort 2022 include the Jace One Piece in cream, Rosa Bikini Top and matching Naya Bikini Bottom in black, and the Lesly Swimsuit in black. Resortwear highlights include the Classic Blazer in black, Carrie Pant in black, and Praia Sarong in black and cream.
In celebration of the brand's 10th anniversary TheIndustry.fashion interviewed Anine Bing about her journey so far and why 2022 is going to be a "huge year". The former model set up her eponymous brand from a garage in Silver Lake, Los Angeles in 2012, and has since fuelled the brand's global success.
