Ancient Greek Sandals launches Upcycled capsule to support factories

Ancient Greek Sandals has created an Upcycled capsule collection for pre-Spring 21 made from surplus materials to help maintain factory workers' jobs.

Inspired by the brand's signature styles the entry level sandals have had details such as stitching and buckles pared back to allow for easier production and a more competitive price point.

New interpretations of best-selling styles, such as Eleftheria, Mirsini, Thalia and Skiriani feature the popular soft "flip flop" EVA sole, and soft napa leather.

The Sides, Parasia, Kyma and Hydor styles feature monotone and dual-colour wave detail on the straps, while Afros has a similar design with a back-strap and signature wing buckle. Amos takes the shape of a classic flip-flop, while Euterpe has finer straps for a more elevated design.

Colours vary based on availability, but include primary brights and metallics, as well as black, natural and white.

“I am pleased that we can continue to support the Greek craft and expertise that goes into creating our sandals, and by using off-cuts we are also taking a positive stride towards more circular collections," said Christina Martini, co-founder & designer at Ancient Greek Sandals.

The range, priced from £85, will be available to buy from the Ancient Greek Sandals website from November and are available for wholesale partners to order for pre-Spring.
