Ami Paris to open long-term pop-up on Chelsea’s Sloane Street

Ami Paris has announced it will open a 1,259 sq ft pop-up store at 135 Sloane Street in London’s Chelsea on 9 May, set to run for 18 months.

It will “embody the Ami global store aesthetic” and will mirror the brand’s Marais flagship store in Paris. In recent years, Ami has opened stores on London’s Wardour Street, as well as shop-in-shops in Harrods and Selfridges.

The new pop-up will add another London destination for UK consumers, following the recent closure of the brand’s Mayfair store at 75 Duke Street, after a decade of trading.

The boutique will offer an extensive range of pieces from Ami Paris’ ‘vestiaire’, including menswear, womenswear and accessories, starting with the SS26 collection.

The materials used in the store have been carefully selected to mirror the Marais flagship store in Paris, with soft beige tones, punctual touches of oak wood, Euville stone and gilded details.

The “cozy atmosphere” of Parisian interiors materialises with a warm, fauve carpet, reminiscent of an actual living room.

In line with Ami Paris founder and designer Alexandre Mattiussi’s passion for art, a selection of artwork from artist Andreas Diaz Andersson will be showcased around the store, inviting the Ami Paris community to discover not just a store but a lively, engaging space.

Andreas Diaz Andersson is a Swedish-Mexican artist known for his distinctly meticulous minimalist abstractions, and his “exceptional precision and meticulous attention to detail”, mirroring the sleek design of the store’s concept.

"The new store is an 18-month pop-up, as Ami Paris searches for a new permanent location," a spokesperson for Ami Paris told TheIndustry.fashion.

"Sloane Street has at once a local and international clientele, high traffic and we know we work well in this kind of environment."

Last week, Ami Paris revealed Portugal and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) midfield maestro João Neves as the face of its new SS26 campaign.

Neves is photographed in a selection of pieces from the new collection, including structured trench coats, suede overshirt jackets and lightweight windbreakers.

Heritage patterns are also central to the aesthetic of the SS26 collection, with argyle knitted tank tops alongside collegiate stripes and reinvented plaid and check motifs.
