AMC and Andy Murray reveal new Championship Collection for Wimbledon

AMC, the Andy Murray-specific arm of the Castore sportswear brand in which he is a shareholder, has today revealed a new performance focused Championship Collection ahead of the Wimbledon tennis tournament, taking place between 27 June – 10 July 2022.

The collection includes a premium range of training gear as well as the kit that Murray will wear throughout the tournament, which is described as “technically crafted, classically designed and ready to perform on the grandest stage of tennis”.

The technical polo shirt which will be worn on court has a classic tennis silhouette, but the designers have subverted the retro-inspired look through technical fabrication. The fabric is a unique jacquard knit that optimises breathability with moisture-wicking properties to keep athletes cool and focused during play, and the shirt has been ergonomically cut to enhance movement in all areas of the game.

Instead of the classic button placket, a zip adds a further modern touch to the classic design.

The technical shorts are also made from the same fabric as the polo to maximise reach and movement during play. They feature an elasticated waistband with drawcord adjustment and extra deep pockets for storing tennis balls during play.

The training kit offers “next-level tennis essentials” that have been designed to elevate performance in training, including a 1/4 zip top described as “a perfect layer for warm-ups and cool-downs” – prioritising ease and range of movement within training sessions.

The AMC training T-shirts are crafted from high-stretch and breathable materials and carry a pattern inspired by the court markings at centre court.

Tom Beahon, Co-Founder of Castore, said: “The AMC brand extends far beyond the traditional athlete/sportswear brand norms. We share a love of tennis and a desire to revolutionise how the sport is presented in Britain.

“The Championship Collection brings our sportswear innovation to tennis once more – inspired by Andy’s unfiltered passion for the sport and the prestige carried by this competition.”
