Amazon preparing to launch luxury fashion platform

Amazon is set to launch a new luxury clothing and accessories platform next month, with the platform initially launching in the US before a global roll-out.

The new platform will reportedly work similarly to the concessions model in department stores, where a brand will run a mini-shop inside a larger space,

Amazon’s new platform will give brands complete control the aesthetics of their online space, and what products they decide to sell. Participating brands will also have access to Amazon’s logistics network, which will help with fast customer service and a variety of shipping methods.

12 American and European ready-to-wear and accessories brands are currently working with Amazon, developing their own space, though no names have been announced.

Head of Brand Relations and Development at Amazon Fashion, Dany Keirouz, is leading the new platform project.

In January, Amazon began initial work on the project in the UK by appointing consultancy company Aisle 8 to manage all UK PR and communications for Amazon Fashion.

Aisle 8 will help with clients and promotion as the company expands across the UK.
