Amazon opens second 4-star store in Westfield

E-commerce giant Amazon has opened the doors to its second 4-star store, just a month after its first store in Bluewater.

Located in London’s Westfield shopping centre, the store will sell a range of trending goods that are rated four stars and above, on Amazon’s website, including books, games, kitchen items, consumer electronics and toys.

Customers are able to purchase items online and collect at the store as soon as the next day. It also offers free returns for items purchased both in-store and online.

The new opening marks the online marketplace’s second non-grocery store in the UK, which stocks the etailer's brand and third-party products. The company currently has six Amazon Fresh stores in London, which enables shoppers to pick up their groceries and leave without having to use a till.

Andy Jones, Director at Amazon 4-star UK, said: "Since opening our first Amazon 4-star store in Bluewater, we’ve heard how much customers love to discover new products, test devices, and see what’s trending locally."

Kate Orwin, Leasing Director at landlord Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, said: "Digital Bricks, the creation of physical stores with technology at the core, is a growth area for our category mix. Our 'How We Shop – What’s Changed' research revealed that 89% of Londoners are interested in in-store shopping technology and innovations and we know that our customers are looking for new and exciting retail experiences - this is another example of how we’re delivering that."
