Amazon has launched its first in-house sustainable collection, Amazon Aware, featuring a range of basics across apparel, beauty and homeware for people to shop "more consciously."

The new product ranges are made from sustainable materials including recycled polyester, organic cotton and bio-based ingredients. All products are certified by third-party organisations that are part of Amazon's Climate Pledge Friendly programme.

The fashion range, for example, features third-party certifications such as Organic Content Standard 100, Global Recycle Standard, and HIGG Index Materials Seal, whilst the skincare and beauty range is packaged in aluminium bottles, glass jars and refill pouches.

Matt Taddy, Vice President at Amazon Private Brands, said: “We are committed to creating programs that contribute toward a more sustainable future. We are excited to introduce Amazon Aware, as it’s another step that continues in our commitment to test, learn, and innovate, while offering low-priced, everyday essentials to our customers, all with third-party certifications featured in our Climate Pledge Friendly program.”

The Aware range is currently available for customers in the United States, Canada and Europe.
