Allbirds set to open its second UK store

Allbirds is set to open its second UK store in London's Marylebone as the sustainable footwear brand continues its global physical retail roll-out.

Situated at 46 Marylebone High Street, the store is the brand's 17th globally and follows on from the opening of its first UK store in Covent Garden at the end of 2018.

The design of the store has been inspired by neighbouring Regent's Park with a focus on nature and the natural materials (wool, tree and sugar) Allbirds uses to create its shoes.

Chairs will be painted in “Regent’s Park” green, the counter will reference Marylebone brick and there will be a park bench outside the store for weary shoppers to take a break. It will also feature the brand's distinctive forward-tilting chairs designed by the company’s Head of Design Jamie McLellan, a Tom Dixon alumni.

To help consumers gain a deeper understand of the brand and conscious consumerism the brand will be staging series of talks, workshops and seminars in the store.

In 2019, Allbirds introduced the Carbon Fund, a self-imposed carbon tax that funds 100% carbon neutrality, and the carbon footprint of all the brand’s stores will be accounted for within this tax. The Marylbone store will also offer digital receipts, shoeboxes made from 90% recycled cardboard and service desks and furniture created with recycled materials.
