Allbirds officially opens second London store in Marylebone

Allbirds has today opened its second UK store in London's Marylebone, as the sustainable footwear brand continues its global retail expansion.

Situated at 46 Marylebone High Street, the store is the brand's 17th globally and follows on from the opening of its first UK store in Covent Garden at the end of 2018.

Allbirds offered local residents a sneak-peak at the new store, with drinks and plants that were locally sourced offered as gifts. The store also continues the company's trend of creating a signature pin badge, with the design relating to the stores location.

The design of the store has been inspired by neighbouring Regent's Park and aims to help educate customers on the different benefits and properties of the shoes and socks, offering a tactile experience customers can touch, feel and engage in-person with the wool and tree fibre that the products are made of.

Chairs will be painted in “Regent’s Park” green, with laces on offer at the door, featuring titles like "Bakerloo Brown" and the counter referencing Marylebone brick and there will be a park bench outside the store for weary shoppers to take a break. It will also feature the brand's distinctive forward-tilting chairs designed by the company’s Head of Design Jamie McLellan, a Tom Dixon alumni.

During the stores launch, TheIndustry.fashion sat down with Hana Kajimura, Sustainability Manager for Allbirds to discuss the new stores opening.
