Sustainable footwear brand Allbirds are offering 2,000 front line NHS staff a free pair of shoes, for the next 24 hours.

The footwear brands move aims to show their appreciation for NHS staff members during this difficult time.

Doctors, nurses and medical staff can claim their free shoes for the next 24 hours, on a first-come basis by filling out the form on their website with your details, BirdsForNHS.

Sandeep Verma, Managing Director of Europe, Allbirds told TheIndustry.fashion: "We admire everything the NHS is doing for our communities. To show our appreciation for healthcare workers on the front lines fighting COVID-19, we’re offering a pair of shoes on us as a small way of saying thank you and providing comfort for the long hours they’re putting in to keep us safe and healthy."

Allbirds have consistently been considerate of the impact of COVID-19, being one of the first high street stores to close in order to protect staff and customers.

Allbirds confirmed that employees would continue to be paid and receive the company benefits they’re entitled to. All corporate staff will begin to work from home.

Co-CEO’s Tim Brown and Joey Zwillinger issued a statement, announcing: “It’s hard to navigate the unknown, but as we continue to better understand how to slow the spread of COVID-19 we want to do all we can to keep our customers, employees and local communities safe.
