Alexa Chung’s Barbour edit is back by popular demand for festival season

Alexa Chung and Barbour have several things in common, one of which is their connection to festival fashion. Though trends come and go, there's one thing we can count on - Alexa Chung turning up to Glastonbury in Barbour. So, it's only logical that the pair teamed back up for the festival season, following the success of ‘The Edit By Alexa Chung’, which launched at Barbour last September.

Alexa Chung continues her role as the Creative Director and Designer at Barbour for the second season. This time around, the collection features outerwear, clothing and Wellington boots. Special mention goes to showerproof jackets with tartan liners, bomber jackets with cord collars and knitwear crafted by Harleys of Scotland. The collection once more features rubber footwear, including a versatile slip-on clog and a wedged Wellington boot.

With clear nods to Barbour’s heritage, the capsule collection blends the brand’s classic elements with Chung’s sought-after style. She said: "I’m in love with the second collection I have designed for Barbour. I think the codes and language we have built together are now well established in that we create playful takes on Barbour’s heritage.

"My particular favourites in the collection are the bright yellow jacket and fire engine red raincoat. I really focused on colour and fun and I think that idea carried through to our camping trip-themed shoot, with the legendary Tim Walker. This collection brings me so much joy and I hope you like it as much as I do."

Tim Walker, renowned for his whimsical photography, was inspired by Chung’s festival style for the campaign. Because what’s festival season without Barbour jackets and Wellington boots galore?

Paul Wilkinson, Group Commercial Director of Barbour, added: "Alexa’s long-standing relationship with Barbour makes for an exciting and authentic collaboration every time. Whether it’s Alexa wearing us throughout her childhood or of course, her iconic Glastonbury style Barbour has always been a trusted companion.

"This new collection is a marriage of all of that personal experience, rooted in Barbour’s classic heritage, with Alexa’s unique and eclectic timeless lens. We’re excited to be sharing this with our customers around the world."

This isn't Alexa Chung's first foray into fashion. She previously founded her very own fashion line ALEXACHUNG in 2017, following successful collaborations with AG Jeans and Marks & Spencer in 2016. In 2018 the designer presented her collection at London Fashion Week for the first time and by 2019 her eponymous label was sold across 15 countries. However, in 2022, she shared the news that she'd be shuttering the brand on Instagram, stating that she had decided to shut down the business because of challenging conditions for small independents over the last two years.
