Alexa Chung closes her eponymous label

Model and TV-personality star Alexa Chung has confirmed that she has been gradually winding down operations at her fashion label ALEXACHUNG.

Chung shared the news on her Instagram, stating that she had taken the decision to shut down the business because of challenging conditions for small independents over the last two years.

Chung added: "The decision to close was not taken lightly, not least because I am so grateful for the passion and creativity the team at ALEXACHUNG brought with them every day and the faith everyone involved had in this endeavour. I am so proud of the company we became."

"It was beyond an honour to be able to create my dream wardrobe, and I would like to thank our wonderful customers for the love you sent our way — you have great taste."

The label was debuted in 2017 with a live-streamed fashion show in London, following Chung's successful collaborations with AG Jeans and Marks & Spencer in 2016. In 2018 the designer presented her collection at London Fashion Week for the first time, and by 2019 her eponymous label was sold across 15 countries and created a pop-up in Harvey Nichols.
