ALEX AND ANI, the Rhode Island-based jewellery brand known for its stackable bracelets and charms, is to open its first UK store at Bluewater in Kent on 25 September.

The 866 sq ft store will stock the brand's stackable bracelets, chain station necklace concept and various styles of "celestial" rings and earrings. In keeping with its ethical ethos ALEX AND ANI will host Charmed by Charity events in the new store and will develop new Charity by Design partnerships, whereby a piece of jewellery is designed specifically for a charity with a percentage of every sale donated to the cause.

Retail director Adele Belitta said the brand was "thrilled" to be opening the Bluewater store. "We look forward to welcoming shoppers into the store in the hope that we will teach them all about the meaning behind our jewellery designs and the eco-conscious responsibility we hold," she added.

ALEX AND ANI was founded by Carolyn Rafaelian and is named after her two children. Rafaelian had been apprentice to her jewellery manufacturer father Ralph Rafaelian and took over the family-owned factory in Rhode Island in 2004, where much of ALEX AND ANI’s products are still made.

The brand is stocked instand-alone ‘town hall’ stores and high end department stores across North America and is also available on its website.
