Agent Provocateur has named Michelle Ryan as its new CEO. Ryan was previously the buying and supply chain director at premium footwear retailer Kurt Geiger.

The appointment comes after a number of internal moves at the luxury lingerie brand following the departure of joint managing director Sandra Mertens-Lustig who has joined Lulu Guinness as CEO.

As a result former joint managing director Kerry Neill has been promoted to chief commercial officer and will report into Ryan. The brand remains creatively led by its long-standing creative director Sarah Shotton.

Ryan's arrival comes as Agent Provocateur continues its UK and international expansion. She has more than 15 years of global luxury experience and prior to Kurt Geiger worked on the executive board for brands including Diane von Furstenberg, Jimmy Choo, Burberry and Saint Laurent in both London and New York.

“I am delighted to be joining Agent Provocateur. The brand is iconic with its ethos of strong, sensual and independently minded women combined with the talent of great design. I look forward to partnering with Sarah Shotton the brands Creative Director, while bringing my commercial expertise and knowledge to the role as CEO," she said of her appointment.
