Adidas collaborates with Prada on Re-Nylon collection

Adidas has announced a new collaboration with Prada, creating a sustainability focused Re-Nylon collection.

The adidas for Prada Re-Nylon collection will "reimagine luxury sportswear through a sustainable lens", according to Adidas, partnering its Original Forum with Prada's signature Re-Nylon fabric, which is infinitely recyclable.

The collection also signifies the two brand's shared commitment to drive innovation as it aims to "radically" bring brands and people together in the metaverse. In a "unique" digital activation, the brands will invite fans of the collection to participate in the metaverse with adidas and Prada through open-source co-creation.

It includes ready-to-wear, accessories and bags, as well as elevated takes on the adidas Forum High and Low sneaker silhouettes, all produced in Italy by Prada.

The new partnership also highlights a recent achievement by Prada, which shifted its entire production from virgin nylon to Re-Nylon by the end of 2021.

The Prada Re-Nylon fabric was first launched in 2019 and is created through the recycling of plastic waste collected from oceans and discarded textile fibres. It is then purified and recycled indefinitely, with no loss of quality, the brand said.

The adidas for Prada Re-Nylon collection launches globally on 13 January 2022 via Prada boutiques and online via Prada and Adidas.
