Absolutely Fabulous The Movie: official trailer unveiled
The trailer for the hotly anticipated Absolutely Fabulous movie has just been unveiled. The film, due for release in the UK in July, sees Jennifer Saunders reprise her role as fashion PR Edina Monsoon while Joanna Lumley returns as her big-drinking, chain-smoking best friend and fashion editor Patsy Stone.
The film, a spin-off from the BBC sitcom which ran throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, also stars original cast members June Whitfield as Edina's mother and Julia Sawalha as long-suffering daughter Saffie.
A host of fashion stars are expected to make cameos including Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne, Kim Kardashian West and designers Anya Hindmarch, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Giles Deacon.
The trailer gives little away, showing the pair enjoying cocktails in the South of France on a speedboat, on a Jeep and in a beach bar.
It is set to be a bumper year for fashion film, a new Alexander McQueen biopic is in development, footwear designer Manolo Blahnik is the subject of a new documentary and Amazon Prime is producing a new series set in a 1940s fashion house in Paris, called The Collection. Additionally Zoolander 2 has just hit cinemas in time for Fashion Month.
