96% of Londoners say timed delivery slots determine who they shop with

96% of shoppers in the capital say they will shop with a retailer who offers a timed delivery slot and 89% say the delivery provider influences their purchase.

A new survey of 1,000 London shoppers, conducted by Vitreous World on behalf of Brisqq, revealed that while timed delivery slots were a major deciding factor when choosing a retailer more than two thirds of respondents (67%) believed those currently offered were "too vague", while 31% felt delivery options were not flexible enough to meet the demands of their busy lifestyles.

More than half of the respondents (54%) had the minimum expectation that retailers should offer deliveries that arrive within an hour of a requested time, date and location with almost one-in-six (16%) expecting retailers to offer deliveries at an exact time of the customer’s choice.

Andrew Mukerjee, CEO and co-founder of local logistics enabler Brissq, said bricks and mortar retailers needed to work to catch up with delivery options provided by services such as Uber, Amazon Prime and Deliveroo, which 60% of the respondents said they used at least once a month.

"In the current retail climate, bricks and mortar stores need to provide more choice and flexibility if they want to remain relevant. The research highlights the growing demand for fast and flexible deliveries, likely because of the choice and convenience offered by e-commerce giants such as Amazon. This is often neglected when it comes to offline retail,” said Mukerjee.

Brisqq provides retailers with technology that connects them with a crowd-sourced delivery fleet enabling them to offer one-hour timed delivery slots within metropolitan cities. It currently works with 400 brands and retailers.
