Uniqlo will relaunch its flagship store at 311 Oxford Street next month and will use the occasion to debut a new collaboration Liberty London for Uniqlo. At the same time it will also unveil its Spring 16 Uniqlo and Lemaire collection (its collaboration with designer Christophe Lemaire).

As part of the relaunch the store has been converted from three stores to five and will feature a new "conceptual sales area" for its Uniqlo LifeWear concept. The 2,240sqm store will also feature a new roof terrace with views across the capital.

"London was Uniqlo's first market outside of Japan when we opened in 2001. Our London global flagship store followed in 2007, offering the largest Uniqlo sales floor space in the world at the time. The redevelopment, almost 10 years later, demonstrates our longstanding commitment to London and our desire to improve our offering for both a local and global consumer audience," said Uniqlo Europe CEO Takao Kuwaharo.

An entirely new concept will be introduced in the store, the Uniqlo WearHouse London, which is a nod to the brand's original name The Unique Clothing Warehouse. The space will be accessible via a private lift from Oxford Street or from within the store.

The space will act as a "cultural hub" offering a unique and different way of displaying clothes but it will also house events throughout the year to celebrate "London and the diverse range of people who live there".

A raft of technology features will be present throughout the store including Uniqlo's signature rotating mannequins and LED tickers as well as a new dedicated online shopping assistant at www.uniqlo.com/311 where customers can check stock levels and order online if what they want is not available in store.

The revamped store will open on 18 March.
