iD launches digital lifestyle platform Amuse

Directional fashion magazine i-D is set to launch a new digital lifestyle platform aimed at a "young and culturally conscious international audience".

Called Amuse the plaform will cover art and style, food and drink, entrepreneurship, travel and style. It will be edited by Xerxes Cook, founder of Purple Travel and Postmatter and Tash Tan has been appointed head of video.

Amuse is tapping in to the growing trend for young people, or the so called millennials, to seek out experience over product. "Luxury today isn't about excess, but about how we choose to spend our most precious resource: time," says a statement on the i-D website.

Forthcoming video series planned for Amuse include: Second Gen, a travel-focused programme following second-generation creatives as they return to their motherland; and Pleasure Seekers, a series exploring sexual emancipation in a modern age.

The new site will launch on 1 September with previews promised from 12 August.
